As the principal of Lawgiq, Sim J. Singh Attariwala brings a wealth of experience as a lawyer, policy expert, and advocate. Attariwala’s roles as a presidentially appointed director and member of a federal commission provided him with invaluable insights into navigating government systems and shaping policy outcomes. These experiences have enhanced his ability to guide clients through the complexities of policymaking and advocacy.

He has extensive experience testifying before Congress, delivering policy briefings, and providing public comments on critical issues. His work includes resolving disputes, coordinating high-impact litigation initiatives, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to develop coalition-based solutions. He has also worked extensively in community organizing, fostering grassroots engagement to amplify voices and drive policy change, while ensuring governmental accountability and oversight at all levels.

Attariwala has played a pivotal role in shaping and securing landmark legislation, including:

• The COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act and the Khalid Jabara and Heather Heyer NO HATE Act, which address hate incidents, enhance public safety, and improve hate crime reporting mechanisms.

• The Non-Profit Security Grant Program Improvement Act, which strengthens protections for faith-based and community organizations.

In addition to legislative achievements, Attariwala has led the development of impactful training programs, including:

• The State of New Jersey CLEAR Institute, training law enforcement officials to improve cultural competency and community engagement.

• The U.S. Department of Justice, promoting cultural understanding and reducing tensions.

• The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), reforming screening practices to address profiling and improve fairness.

His contributions extend to shaping national strategies, including the National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism and the National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia and Antiarab Hate, among others. He has also worked with policymakers to introduce resolutions in Congress and generate proclamations and recognitions by state and local governments, ensuring key issues gain the visibility they deserve.

Attariwala’s work spans federal, local, and state governments, including engagement with the White House, U.S. Congress, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, mayors, state attorneys general, and governors.
